VALORANT's competitive scene is entering a new era. According to Sheep Esports sources, Ava “florescent” Eugene has reached a verbal agreement with Apeks for the upcoming VCT EMEA season, marking the first time in Riot Games' FPS history that a player from the Game Changers circuit joined the Tier 1. The Vietnamese-Canadian Duelist is Apeks’ first recruit of the offseason. According to our information, she was among the best players in the organization's tryouts. Over the past two years, florescent has been nothing short of extraordinary in the Game Changers circuit. Alongside her Shopify Rebellion teammates, she dominated 2023 and 2024, winning five out of six VCT GC North America splits and finishing as runners-up in the sixth.

Even more impressively, Shopify Rebellion claimed back-to-back victories at the Game Changers Championship—the Worlds of the Game Changers circuit—in 2023 and 2024. Florescent's individual performances were equally remarkable; she was named MVP not only of both finals but also of both Championships, finishing each tournament with the highest 2.0 rating. Her stats were unparalleled: a 1.45 rating in both 2023 and 2024, far ahead of her runners-up, teammate Sarah “sarah” Simpson in 2023 (1.30) and MIBR’s Nicolas “srN” Niederauer in 2024 (1.23).

First recruit

Florescent’s list of achievements doesn’t end there. The Jett main holds the record for the most kills in a series during an international Game Changers match, achieving 112 kills in the Grand Final of the 2023 Worlds against Team Liquid Brazil. In short, florescent has literally flown over the Game Changers circuit over the last two seasons. It therefore seems logical that she should be the first Game Changers player to have a chance on the elite mixed circuit.

At the end of October, Apeks—winners of the 2024 EMEA Ascension—parted ways with two players: Dom “soulcas” Sulcas, who will join Movistar KOI, and Kajetan “kaajak” Haremski, new Fnatic's player, as previously reported by Sheep Esports. For now, the remaining roster consists of Auni “AvovA” Chahade, Tautvydas “hype” Paldavicius, and in-game leader Michał “MOLSI” Łącki.
