After two Bo3's in the LTA Sul Split 1, VKS were eliminated from the bracket.
After picking up Adrian "Trymbi" Trybus, a top European support, amidst the LTA merger in the offseason, many fans — from South America to Europe — had high expectations for Vivo Keyd Stars. Unfortunately, those fans will have to wait until Split 2, which starts in April, to see the team play again. The LTA's Split 1 regular season format, which eliminates four teams in three weeks to seed an eight-team, double-round-robin, cross-conference playoffs bracket held in Sao Paulo.
Later the same day, Fluxo W7M was the second team from the LTA to be eliminated, losing 2-0 to FURIA. LOUD and FURIA, two of the most iconic brands in South American esports, qualified for another round of lower bracket play — they'll have to win one more series to qualify for the playoffs.
Since these matches were Bo3's, VKS were unfortunately eliminated before the primary draw of Split 1, the Fearless Draft format, could kick into full gear in the Bo5 stage. After competitive 2-1 losses to LEVIATAN and LOUD, the runner-up finisher of last year's Split 2 playoffs will now take a two-month break from competition, forced to recollect and prepare for the longer — and, importantly, more forgiving — Split 2 format.
