Siwoo is among the most promising rookies in the LCK CL, while BeryL returns to the team that helped him secure his first Worlds title
Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo and Cho "BeryL" Geon-hee have been announced as the toplaner and support for Dplus KIA (DK) for the 2025 season. Revealed on DK's social media this Wednesday, both players are already well-acquainted with the organization. The 17-year-old rookie has just been promoted from the Challengers team, while BeryL makes a homecoming to the team where he claimed his first Worlds championship.
A needed change to challenge the top
This year, Dplus KIA struggled to make their mark among the league's top three titans—Gen.G, T1, and HLE—finishing fourth in both splits. However, in a miraculous turn during the Regional Finals, they swept T1, claiming their most impressive victory of the year. Unfortunately, their triumph was overshadowed by their disappointing performance at Worlds, as they became the only Asian team to fail to progress past the Swiss Stage. Understandably, change seemed inevitable.
During this offseason, DK identified their two weakest points and seized the best opportunities available on the market to strengthen their roster. First, they promoted Siwoo, a promising talent who is set to make his rookie debut in the LCK. Siwoo earned his promotion after an impressive year in the LCK CL, where he secured second place in both splits and achieved a remarkable 70 solo kills—solidifying his status as one of the most promising rookies in the league. His arrival has been highly anticipated, and all eyes will be on him to see if he can establish himself as one of the top players in the LCK. He will benefit from the arrival of Khan, who has also been announced as joining the club as a Positional Coach.
The second addition is equally noteworthy, as it marks the homecoming of BeryL, one of the few to have won Worlds twice—first with Dplus KIA (then Damwon Gaming) in 2020 and again with DRX in 2022. Returning to his roots, BeryL re-joins the organization where it all began for him in 2017, back when he played as an ADC before transitioning to support. He was a pillar of the team until 2021, after which he spent two years with DRX and most recently with KT Rolster, where he achieved two fifth-place finishes this year. While his performances in recent years have been less flashy and he's now 27, BeryL's unparalleled experience and unique support skills will be crucial in leading DK back to the top of the standings—and perhaps even toward another unforgettable Worlds run in 2025.
