Four teams fought for survival in the Split 1 bracket on Saturday.
This week, in the LTA North, four teams took the stage hoping to continue their journey in the first split of the year. The tournament features an eight-team double-elimination bracket with Fearless Draft Bo3 matchups, a new draft format which prohibits champions from appearing more than once per series. Week 2, Day 1 marked the season’s first lower bracket elimination round, heightening the stakes for all teams involved.
Shopify Rebellion Reverse Sweeps LYON
LYON dominated game one by taking an early Drake, securing first blood, and getting key kills across both sides of the map. Winning the feat battle by claiming first turret and the first three kills, they snowballed their lead with Baron and soul to secure victory. Game two opened with SR drawing first blood. Though LYON claimed the Feats of Strength, SR turned the tide with Voracious Atakhan and Baron. After winning a series of crucial skirmishes, SR forced LTA North’s first game three.
LYON came into game three with momentum, but SR was prepared to answer every move. After destroying first turret and winning a close race for kill #3, SR claimed the Feats of Strength. After a set of notable outplays by Cristian "Palafox" Palafox on Yone and yet another Atakhan buff, SR pushed through bottom lane to victory, securing their spot in next week’s matches.
The Team Dignitas vs. Disguised Rivalry, LIVE
Disguised (DSG) made an early impact in the first game, securing kills, the Drake, and Void Grubs within the first fifteen minutes. Their momentum continued, giving them the Feats of Strength and allowing them to claim a clean victory against Team Dignitas.
DSG started game two with aggressive dives and heavy objective control, but Team Dignitas pulled through a critical midlane fight. After acing DSG, they continued keeping up the pressure in every skirmish for the rest of the game, pushing the series to an even 1-1.
In the last game, a stolen Blitzcrank ult turned DSG’s tower dive into Dignitas’ claim for the Feat of Warfare. Team Dignitas kept the jungle pressure high, securing all Void grubs and multiple drakes. Atakhan made its pivotal return, assisting Team Dignitas to a well-snowballed, dominant victory.
What’s Next?
The teams eliminated this week are out of the running for Split 1 and will not return until April 5th, 2025, when Split 2 begins. The winners from this week will continue in the double-elimination format until the top four teams from LTA North are decided. The top four teams will face off against the top four from LTA South in a cross-conference single-elimination bracket, vying for a chance to play in the new international event, First Stand.
