Los Ratones could join another league next year
Big news for the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC). During one of his Twitch streams, the streamer and founder of the Los Ratones team, Marc "Caedrel" Lamont, confirmed that his team would not be part of the league next year.
"Some people people asking about it: Will you be in NLC next year? No", the streamer and former pro player said. "We are a bit done with NLC, so we won't be there. But we are in LEC in winter split. We are not going to compete in NLC at all. Stay tuned with more updates."
Pleasant future prospects
This decision follows the announcement of several recent changes in the competition. The first being the new format for the first tournament of the season. As a reminder, Riot Games recently announced through an explanatory video that twelve teams would take part in the LEC Versus, which will replace the traditional Winter Split. For this change, two ERL teams will take part in the competition, Los Ratones for their performances throughout the year at EMEA Masters and Karmine Corp Blue for their victory in the EM Summer edition.
For the next two splits, Los Ratones could possibly land in another ERL league. With the allowed removal of the LTR restrictions, reported by Sheep Esports and which will allow any European player to play in any regional league without restriction, we could imagine that LR would keep the same roster and export to another ERL league. Some fans are notably speculating about a possible arrival in the LFL or the Prime League.

A record year before leaving
For their first competitive year, Los Ratones thus leave the NLC through the front door. Three splits won out of three possible, with each time a final won by a score of 3-0. The team also won two EMEA Masters with two 3-0 victories in the finals in winter and spring.
Formed by former LEC players Juš "Crownie" Marušič, Tim "Nemesis" Lipovšek, Martin "Rekkles" Larsson, as well as streamer Simon "Thebaus" Hofverberg and rookie Veljko "Velja" Čamdžić, the team will have left its mark on the ERL with its victories and the content offered to fans. The only downside this year was a crushing defeat against KCB at the last EMEA Masters, which deprived them of the "ERL golden road".
