LFL's first split kicks off on January 22, with four matches per day
On Thursday, January 16, the LFL revealed the schedule and matches for the first week of the Flash In split. Teams will battle starting January 22 at 6 PM (UTC+1), with a game between current champions BDS Academy and BK ROG. While the LFL offseason was very eventful and some teams seem to have made the most of it, the beginning of this split will provide an opportunity to observe the initial balance of power taking shape.
There are a few interesting matches to watch, such as Solary's first game against Galions (formerly known as Team GO) or Karmine Corp Blue's debut match against JobLife, the league's newcomers. It is important to note that, according to the schedule, only four matches will be played per day, with three days of competition per week.
The first iteration of the three-split format
As a reminder, this 3-split format is new, and the Flash-In split is entirely novel. Following a draw held at the start of the year, the 10 LFL teams were divided into two groups of five. Group A features Vitality.Bee, Joblife, GameWard, Gentle Mates, and Karmine Corp Blue. Meanwhile, Group B comprises Galions, BK ROG, BDS Academy, Solary, and Ici Japon Corp.
Each team will face the other four in their group in BO1 matches. The top four teams from each group will then advance to the Swiss Stage, where matches will be played in BO3, followed by a classic playoff stage where teams will be seeded based on their results. This stage will be played in BO5. Additionally, all matches will use the Fearless Draft format. The split is scheduled to run until February 27.
