The playoffs bracket for the summer split was announced on Monday by the official LEC account. After a month of fierce competition between the teams in the League of Legends EMEA Championship, Vitality and Rogue have been eliminated from the summer season. The first BO3 (best-of-three-round) matches of the year's second half have already been announced.

The top 2 teams of the regular season have the opportunity to choose their opponent among the last four teams to qualify. That's why SK Gaming, who finished first in the regular season, have chosen to take on Team Heretics, with the winner of this match-up facing the victor of Fnatic vs. GIANTX. The runner-up in this BO1 phase, Team BDS, have chosen MAD Lions KOI as their opponent for their first playoff match of the summer split. This means that the team that comes out on top will face the winner of the BO3 between G2 Esports and Karmine Corp.

Aiming for Season Finals

These first four clashes will take place from Friday, July 12 to Saturday, July 13, followed the next day by the games between each winner in their respective bracket. The eight teams are entering one of the most important stages of the year, aiming to prove their success, with everything still on the line since they all can qualify for the Season Finals.

For the moment, only G2 are automatically qualified since they won both previous splits, but all the teams in the top 3 this summer will also get access to the last EMEA elite stage of the year. For Vitality and Rogue, their exit means that all the players and staff are already on vacation, as neither of the two structures have accumulated enough points to qualify for the Season Finals.
