Targamas becomes the first player in LEC history to get no kills in an entire regular season
At the dawn of playoffs in the LEC, the League of Legends EMEA championship, the Karmine Corp support was awarded a curious record. Raphaël “Targamas” Crabbé becomes the first player in league history to conclude a regular season without a single kill, as noted by our colleagues: Rigas. While some will see this as yet another reason to criticize the Belgian player, others will praise his ability, throughout his nine games, not to steal any of his teammates' kills... Any AD Carry's dream in soloqueue... What's more, the support still ranked #14 in the league's kill participation (KP), proof that, even if he didn't get any kills, he did contribute to offering some to his team.
To conclude its sixth LEC split in style, Targamas receives this honorary distinction, in addition to Karmine Corp's long-awaited qualification to playoffs. Although he is the only player to have achieved this in the new European - later EMEA - circuit introduced by Riot Games in 2019, other LCS EU supports had also managed to end a split without setting off the kill counter, but this had never happened over a full regular season.
The record for players that never took a single kill in a split was held by Kim "Wisdom" Tae-wan, but he only played four games with Giants Gaming in 2016. Karmine Corp battled throughout 2024 to finally qualify for the playoffs this summer. Last year, Targamas recorded just one kill, whereas during the winter season, he gleaned eight. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to keep his current streak alive in BO3s (best-of-3s), although it is obvious that the support and his teammates will have other priorities in mind.
