13 domestic titles, 1 international, 1 regional and 20 MVPs
Rasmus "Caps" Winther is one of the most celebrated players in the history of professional League of Legends. His career, marked by remarkable skill and versatility, has seen him achieve numerous titles and accolades across different teams and regions. Here, we delve into the major titles Caps has won throughout his illustrious career.
Early Career and Breakthrough
Caps began his professional journey in 2015 with Enigma Esports, a small multi-gaming organization based in Finland. He then bounced between different orgs in early 2016 (Inspire eSports, E-Corp Gaming, Mousesports) before eventually signing with Nerv midway through the Challenger split where they ended at the last place despite the midlaner shining with a still quite famous pentakill with Aurelion Sol.
Caps then decided to move to the Turkish league joining Dark Passage team in July to play in their Summer Split playoffs. With him and fellow European jungler Andrei "Xerxe" Dragomir, this roster won the TCL playoffs which marks Caps first achievment in the LoL scene at only 16 years old. But it was his move to Fnatic in December 2016 that truly marked the beginning of his rise to prominence.
Titles with Fnatic
Caps joined Fnatic which was in a rebuilding period after 2016 being a year dominated by G2 Esports. But 2017 didn't go as planned and they only ended 3rd in both Spring and Summer Split. This year marks the first Worlds appearance of Caps, where they made it out of groups before being terminated by Royals Never Give Up (RNG) 3-1 in the Quarters.
In the Spring Split of 2018, Caps and Fnatic won their first major title together. This victory was a testament to the team's dominance in the European region. Following their success in the spring, Fnatic continued their winning streak by securing the Summer Split of 2018. This win cemented their position as the top team in Europe and earned them again a spot at the World Championship.
Caps played a crucial role in helping the team reach the finals of the 2018 Worlds proving he was officially one of the best midlaners in Europe. Although they were ultimately defeated by Invictus Gaming, this runner-up finish was a significant achievement on the global stage.
Titles with G2 Esports, Caps Golden era
After two successful years with Fnatic, Caps made a high-profile move to G2 Esports in November 2018. This transition would elevate his career even further and lead to numerous additional titles. Caps first split with G2 Esports was a resounding success. The team won the LEC Spring Split of 2019, showcasing their dominance by defeating Origen in the finals. G2 Esports continued their dominance into the Summer Split of 2019, securing back-to-back titles in LEC.
On the International level this year, G2 defeated Team Liquid in the MSI finals to win the title, marking Caps first international championship and establishing G2 as a powerhouse on the global stage. They even reached the Worlds finals in Paris with Caps and his teammates being one BO5 to accomplished the Golden Road (winning both local splits, MSI and Worlds). In 2020, G2 Esports maintained their winning ways with another title in the Spring Split and Summer Split of 2020. This marked Caps' fourth consecutive LEC title with G2 Esports.
Caps is the most entitled European player
2021 will be a blank year as G2 struggled against MAD Lions and Rogue in the Spring Split and against Fnatic in the Summer Split which took the last possible ticket for Worlds. This was a huge disappointment for this roster which had replaced Luka "Perkz" Perkovic by Martin "Rekkles" Larsson at the beginning of the year in order to build a super-team who's goal was to win it all domestically and internationally.
Caps added yet another LEC title to his name with a victory in the Spring Split of 2022. G2 defeated Rogue in the finals but the Summer Split finals opposed the two organizations again and Rogue got the best of it denying Caps another domestic title.
Since 2023, the LEC calendar has been splitted in 3 small splits (Winter, Spring, Summer) and it has been stated by Riot Games that each splits winner gets a title in 2023 and 2024. It is only starting 2025 and onwards that only the winner that only the LEC Season Finals should mark as official titles. Even so, Caps and G2 have been extremely dominant, winning the Winter and Summer Split, and also the LEC Season Finals this year. With no roster changes in 2024, G2 even achieved the LEC Grand Slam by winning all three shields and the Season Finals, in Munich. The Danish even won the MVP of this whole year.
Caps has won 14 titles in LEC, 1 international at MSI, 1 Regional back in 2016 in TCL. Not to mention he has won countless of MVP awards making him the most entitled European player surpassing Perkz record.
