Gen.G are readying up to face Fnatic in the MSI 2024 Bracket Stage for a chance to face Top Esports. Ahead of this match, the team's bot laner, Peyz, took some time to delve into his hopes for the tournament along with his read on other teams in this exclusive interview.

| What are your overall expectations for MSI?

Peyz: "Since this is an international tournament I get to face a lot of foreign international players that I haven't normally played against in the LCK. So I'm really looking forward to that. I feel like I will have a lot of fun playing against strong teams from other regions as well."

| This is your third split in the LCK, third title, and third international event. Being as young as you are, what do these achievements mean to you?

Peyz: "I have been getting all these titles in the LCK since I debuted last year. All these championships and victories really help in giving me confidence that I'm doing well."

"Making it to the international stage is all the more important for us this time around. I feel like I did not get to really show what my true potential is during my first two international tournaments. I believe that this is the right opportunity to prove myself and actually show what I'm made of. I will do my best."

| Gen.G has had a history of underperformance internationally. What would you attribute this to and what are you doing differently this time around?

Peyz: "I believe that we'll have to prioritize our read on the meta and just getting our tier list on point. I think that's the most important aspect. We've been making much too many mistakes locally which we'll have to fix on the spot as well. Playing at an international tournament means that teams will punish you for your mistakes much easier, so we must not repeat them."

"I do believe that we're capable of winning MSI, as long as we play like we usually do. We'll have to work really hard at this tournament."

| You are facing Fnatic in the first round, who will be fielding Noah. Previously, you played against him in the LCK CL, back in 2022. Does this match-up mean anything special to you?

Peyz: "I've faced many of my former opponents from the Challengers League, but all of them were within the LCK itself. I think that this will be the first time I can face someone I've played against in the LCK CL on the international stage. Playing against Noah and Jun is going to be really interesting and quite new to me. This should be a very fun time."

| Any other teams or players you wish to face? Do you think that Western teams have the potential to perform well?

Peyz: "Well, as much as I want to play against T1 again, we've played against them several times while in the LCK. I'd have to say that I'm most excited to face the LPL teams, simply because of how good they are. I think that facing either of their representatives is going to be very fun."

"I can't really predict who's going to reach the finals and I don't think it would be weird to say that any of the teams which have made it thus far could end up making it all the way."

"I also felt this way last year about G2, as they've always been and are such a fierce team. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they perform at the tournament and hope we'll get to meet them down the line."

| How would you compare your current bot lane duo with Lehends to last year's duo with Delight?

Peyz: "I think Delight and Lehends are both great players. Both are very talented, and they have their own strengths. It's really hard to give a proper analysis of how different they both are."

"Compared to 2023, I've mostly worked on changing my own playstyle. Last year, our strength was in team fighting, whereas now, our bot lane feels like it has improved and grown in practically every other aspects."
